inspire

I am currently working on a new identity for myself and my design work. Creating something for yourself is so hard, you would think that you know what you want and like, but you don't.

The two above images, the pretty stones with their soft color, sparkle and hard organic yet geometric angles inspired the mark I'm working on, and I am feeling the layout of the Meat & Bread cards.

I am pretty excited to finish up this little identity project, I am even going to get stamps made, oo la la, to print the business cards, and anything else for that matter.

I don't know the original homes of the images, but you can find them on my pinterest.

can't eat money

"Only after the tree has been cut down, only after the last river has been poisoned, only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you find that money cannot be eaten"- Cree Indian Prophecy

This quote makes me wanna leave everything behind and live off the land & be one with nature and all it has to offer (like snuggling a lion, obviously). But sadly if I tried that Sallie Mae would still hunt me down.

thick and layered

I just discovered Chris Ballasiotes work yesterday and am more than inspired by his watercolor lettering and layering of image + lettering + texture. So fresh and well done.

wishing

Now that the air is beginning to cool, I need to add some things to my closet. Also I need that Pendleton roll out blanket for some apple cider drinking/chilly picnic by the lake. But before I add anything to my closest I need to add some money to ma wallet...

home sweet internet

After traveling the world wide web looking for a place to blog from,  I think I have finally found a home... Now let's see if I actually keep up with it.

The above photo is by Iain McKell and his series called The New Gypsies. They are absolutely beautiful pictures and make me want to drop everything and live in a wagon with my cats , my man and a horse and just travel the world/country. Ah wanderlust.
